Muskoskeletal Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy

Muskoskeletal Platelet Rich Plasma Rich Plasma (PRP) joint therapy involves the injection of the patient's own concentrated blood platelets to areas of injury and/or pain. These concentrated blood platelets have been found to be very effective at healing injuries and eliminating pain. Growth factors released by the concentrated platelets promote a natural immune response, which in turn signals to the body that the area where the injection was placed needs to be repaired. Stem cells and other cells then begin to repair the injury at an accelerated rate. Joint PRP therapy allows us to offer our patients an additional conservative treatment option for their pain. It is performed safely in our office under ultrasound guidance and helps heal without undergoing the risks of surgery.
